FRIENDSWOOD, TX -- Friendswood Police Activity Report February 21-28, 2022

Theft

Feb. 22 (9:16 a.m.) Two pallets of plywood were stolen from a home under construction in the 2500 block of Sandy Lake Drive.

Feb. 25 (11:49 a.m.) A theft of prescription medication was reported at Friendship Haven located at 1500 Sunset Drive. Management reported that two Oxycodone tablets were missing. When questioned about the missing medicine, a female employee resigned her position.

Feb. 25 (12:16 p.m.) The UTMB Medical Clinic located at 128 W. Parkwood Avenue reported a theft of medication from a juvenile patient by the patient’s mother.

Fraud

Feb. 21 (3:28 p.m.) A Friendswood woman contacted police about fraudulent activity on her credit card. She believes she may have lost her credit card on February 16th or 17th. When she realized her credit card was missing, she looked at her account and observed two charges that were pending that she did not make.

Feb. 23 (10:42 a.m.) A Friendswood woman received several emails about the opening of a new account. She knew the emails were a scam but did nothing to investigate further. Not until she received a Chime debit card in the mail. Chime was contacted and advised of the fraudulent account.

Feb. 24 (2:55 p.m.) A Friendswood woman reported that her AT&T account was fraudulently used to purchase two cell phones. The phones were scheduled to be shipped to a Friendswood address.

Assault

Feb. 22 (10:11 p.m.) Martin Dandre Brooks, 36, of Friendswood, was charged with Assault by Contact-Family Violence. Brooks is accused of assaulting his wife at their home in the 16900 block of Tibet Road.

Feb. 27 (10:49 p.m.) David Ray Roch, 51, of Friendswood, was charged with Assault by Contact-Family Violence. Roch was involved in a physical disturbance with his girlfriend at their home in the 1700 block of Hunters Bend.

Narcotics

Feb. 22 (12:07 p.m.) A driver was stopped for a license plate violation in the 17100 block of Townes Road. The driver claimed that he did not know that his license was suspended and advised the officer that the vehicle did not belong to him. Passengers in the vehicle appeared nervous. They were identified and consent was given to search the vehicle. Jodi Irene Carl, 44, of Dickinson, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1. She was found in possession of methamphetamine. Carl provided a false name and had an outstanding warrant for drug possession in Galveston County. Ryan Randell Register, 32, of Bacliff, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He had a used syringe in his pocket that was used to inject methamphetamine. The driver was released with a citation.

Feb. 23 (3:28 p.m.) Christian Reinan Consemiu, 30, of Baytown, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 3. Consemiu was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a license plate violation in the 800 block of Old Castlewood. The driver had a small baggie of weed sticking out of his pocket, so a search of the vehicle was conducted. Consemiu was in possession of a Hydrocodone pill and Alprazolam pill. The driver was issued citations and released from the scene.

Feb. 24 (1:25 a.m.) Gisel Taboada, 22, of Texas City, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1. Taboada was driving with an expired 30-day permit in the 4300 block of Saffron Lane. She exhibited signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test. While inventorying Taboada’s vehicle, the officer found cocaine.

Feb. 25 (12:00 a.m.) Hudson William Stronck, 21, of Friendswood, and Caitlyn Nicole Read, 21, of Houston, were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1. Stronck was stopped for expired registration in the 15300 block of Blackhawk Blvd. During the contact, the officer detected the strong smell of marijuana. When asked how much marijuana was inside the vehicle, Stronck said he had roughly 6 grams. Stronck also admitted to having fentanyl pills inside the vehicle that were being held by the passenger. The passenger, Read, denied having the pills. A female police officer conducted a search and found that Read was in possession of the pills.

Feb. 25 (9:45 a.m.) An alarming written statement made by one student and observed by another student was reported to Friendswood Junior High administrators at 1000 Manison Parkway. When the student was called in to an administrator’s office, she was found in possession of Clonazepam. The 13-year-old female student was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 3 in a Drug Free Zone. She was transported to the Galveston County Juvenile Detention Center.

Feb. 26 (1:27 a.m.) Courtney Renee Maness, 26, of Houston, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1. Christian Cole Barrera, 26, of League City, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Barrera was stopped for expired registration in the 3100 block of W. Bay Area Blvd. During the contact, the officer detected the smell of marijuana. When asked if there was marijuana inside the vehicle, Barrera responded by telling the officer that the question was not important. The driver and passenger were asked to exit the vehicle. Prior to Maness exiting the vehicle, she produced a marijuana grinder from her pocket and handed it to the officer. She also indicated that there was a bong and marijuana in the front seat. A female officer searched Maness and found that she was in possession of methamphetamine. Maness had other drug paraphernalia inside her backpack. Inside Barrera’s vehicle, the officer found a THC bong and a small marijuana pipe.

Feb. 27 (7:59 a.m.) Friendswood Police had information that a wanted person was headed to the Enclave Apartments at 5000 Watkins Way. Joe Anthony Coronado, 43, had an outstanding assault warrant, was known to carry a weapon, and is a convicted felon. When officers arrived at the Enclave, they located Coronado’s vehicle and found Coronado sitting in the driver’s seat. He was taken into custody without incident. Coronado was asked if he was in possession of a weapon; he admitted to having a loaded firearm between the front seats inside the vehicle. The weapon was found along with a pill bottle containing methamphetamine and a glass pipe. Coronado was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1.

Driving While Intoxicated

Feb. 26 (1:40 a.m.) Kathryn Anne Jones, 33, of Friendswood, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated in the 2200 block of Thomas Trace. Jones was stopped for speeding and failure to drive in a single marked lane. She exhibited signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test. Her passenger was given the opportunity to call for a sober ride home.

Weapons

Feb. 25 (1:48 pm.) Steven Michael Perez, 24, of Liverpool, was charged with Unlawful Carrying Weapons. Perez was stopped for expired registration and no insurance in the 800 block of W. Edgewood Drive. Perez had an outstanding warrant and admitted to being in possession of marijuana and a gun.

Traffic

Feb. 21 (3:21 p.m.) Christianne Ruth, 47, of Highlands, was charged with Driving While License Invalid and No Insurance. Ruth was stopped for an insurance violation in the 3600 block of Signal Hill Drive. Ruth identified herself with an expired driver’s license. Her license was suspended, and she had two outstanding Harris County Precinct 4 warrants.

Feb. 25 (11:19 p.m.) Richard Rincon, Jr., 43, of Houston, was charged with Driving While License Invalid and No Insurance. Rincon was traveling on FM 2351 with an unsecure load of furniture. A traffic stop was conducted in the 15500 block of Beamer. Rincon did not have a valid driver’s license and no proof of insurance.
