WEBSTER, Texas -- Close to one-third of all adults suffer from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease [GERD] at some point in their lives. If you have found yourself suffering from heartburn, acid reflux, chest discomfort or sore throat, join us for an informative seminar Thursday, August 30, 6-7:30 p.m. led by physicians affiliated with the Esophageal Disease Center at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital.

“Our Esophageal Disease Center offers a multidisciplinary approach and provides the most advanced diagnostic and treatment technology in Houston for reflux and other esophageal illnesses,” said Michel Kafrouni, M.D., gastroenterologist and co-director of the Memorial Hermann Southeast Esophageal Disease Center. “It is one of the first hospital-based centers of its kind in the Houston area.”

If left untreated, chronic heartburn can lead to more serious conditions such as precancerous lesions and esophageal cancer. The “Live a Life without Reflux” seminar offers the opportunity to learn about new alternatives to medication, and innovative procedures that can provide long-term relief.

The first step towards dealing with GERD is information. The “Life without Reflux” will be held at the Spring Hill Suites by Marriott, 1101 Magnolia Ave., Webster, TX 77598. The event is free but space is limited. To register, call 713-222-CARE (2273).
